About Barista Sista
Barista Sista Coffee Roasters are a boutique family roastery nestled in the main street of Nuriootpa, in the beautiful Barossa Valley.
Owned by passionate coffee lovers, Nigel and Diana Wheeler, the journey began back in 2011 when they wanted a sea change in careers. Diana embarked on a journey into coffee after training as a barista, and her enthusiasm was so infectious that Nigel followed suit!
Coffee Roasted in the Barossa Valley
In 2012, they opened their cafe and coffee shop, but their thirst for more knowledge soon led them into the aromatic world of coffee roasting. The art of good coffee is multilayered between the barista's skill set, the quality of the beans, the roast profile and the equipment used. Needless to say, they were well and truly hooked!
Both Nigel and Diana take tremendous pride in the craft of small batch roasting, with all of their coffee roasted, stamped and bagged on-site. Following their quest for the perfect cup, they only source high altitude specialty grade Arabica beans; some being certified organic.
Golden Bean - Bronze Medal 2019
In 2019, Barista Sista Coffee Roasters entered the Golden Bean Awards; a competition designed to find the best coffee roasters in Australia.
They were delighted to win a bronze medal in the milk based category for their house blend - a well-balanced coffee, medium in body, with slight caramel and nutty tones and a mild finish.
